KarteekkaTyaggi started her career with civil and criminal litigation in India in 2004. After moving to the United Arab Emirates, she grew her experience to include employment, divorce, child custody and women’s rights cases as well as arbitration and corporate legal practice. During this time, she dealt with several cross-border issues and matters having worked with clients from Europe, Middle East and Asia. Her practice has always included pro bono work, mostly with respect to women’s rights, labour rights, athletes and sports persons rights. Karteekka has successfully brought several contract/ construction labour cases in UAE and India on employment benefits, unfair dismissal and unpaid dues; for women with claims for marital rights, testamentary rights and custodial rights; and sports persons and athletes with claims for unfair dismissal, non-discrimination, fair trial, and so on.
In December 2019, Karteekka moved to Geneva and now manages her legal practice between Geneva, India and UAE. She joined the legal team of AAPC in May 2020 and works with the team on sexual harassment and discrimination claims of international civil servants and other employees of international organisations with a focus on entities that fall under the ILOAT.
Karteekka holds a Bachelor of Economics & Political Science from Miranda House, Delhi University and Bachelor of Laws from Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She is admitted to the Bar in New Delhi, India and is licensed to practice in the United Arab Emirates. She is also licensed to practice as a consultant in Geneva, Switzerland.
